He was one the founders of APAF (Portuguese Association for Photographic Art), which emanated from the extinction and realignment of "Foto Club 6x6", where he had been a  member of the executive board.

In the APAF he was executive secretary during three mandates from 1973  to the beginning of the eighties, when he became permanent contributor  of the  professional magazines "FotoJornal" and "Revista Nova Imagem".

He participated in several photography art exhibitions and was co-author of one of the first non commercial slideshows produced in Portugal, with  premiere in Palácio Foz in 1979.

For personal and professional reasons he abandoned photography in the last almost twenty years. But it was just this new activity, intensely connected with the new technologies, that allowed him to rediscover the magic of the development laboratory ..yet no longer with chemicals and silver salts, but  with image processing by  methods of informatics.

Retired for about one year he dedicates now completely to this new passion
